Hearst winner; School in 5th Place Nationally
Chris DeLotell placed 7th in the Personality/Profile Writing competition of the 2006-07 Hearst Journalism Awards Program. Chris was recognized for his profile of UK Athletics Director Mitch Barnhart.
With Chris' win and earlier wins by other UK Journalism students, the School of Journalism and Telecommunications is ranked 5th in the nation in news writing. One competition remains in this year's program, the Spot News contest.
The Hearst Awards program is open to journalism students in programs accredited by ACEJMC; there are currently 109 accredited programs. Within Kentucky, UK, WKU and Murray State are accredited.
