School to host Attorney General Candidate Forum
When: Wednesday, April 4, 7:00 p.m.
Where: W.T. Young Library Auditorium, UK Campus
The Scripps Howard First Amendment Center, The Institute for Rural Journalism and Community Issues, the UK chapter of the Society for Professional Journalists, and the School of Journalism and Telecommunications are sponsoring a public forum involving five of the six candidates for Kentucky Attorney General.
Both Democratic candidates, Robert Bullock and Jack Conway, have agreed to participate. Republican candidates Tim Coleman, Philip Kimball and Jon Larson also have agreed to attend. Republican Stan Lee declined to attend, citing a schedule conflict. Judy Clabes, president and CEO of the Scripps Howard Foundation and former editor of The Kentucky Post, will serve as moderator.
The candidates’ opening statements and the questions directed to the candidates will focus on enforcement of the state’s Open Records Act and Open Meetings Act and how the next attorney general can encourage freedom of information.
The forum is free and open to the public; however, seating is limited, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to arrive early.
